The spirit of celebration and achievement was in full swing at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa in Limerick recently, as graduates from Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s College of Further Education and Training (FET) gathered with family, friends, and staff to mark the culmination of their learning journeys and the beginning of exciting new chapters in their lives.
Over two days, learners from College of FET campuses across Limerick and Clare came together with family, friends, and staff to mark the completion of their programmes in areas such as Business, Science, Art, Health, Beauty, Childcare, the Tertiary Degree Programme, Recognised Prior Learning (RPL), Media, Fashion, Sport, Engineering, Information Technology, and many more.

Our learners are finishing their programmes with real skills, real confidence, and a bright future ahead of them. Further Education and Training open doors for people from every background and connect talent with opportunity in a very real way. When we support people to learn and to upskill locally, we strengthen our communities and invest in the future of this region. I want to congratulate each of our graduates, you’ve earned this moment, and we are proud of you.”

The celebrations reflected the ETB’s mission to provide inclusive, flexible, and high-quality education and training opportunities, supporting learners at every stage of their journey, whether progressing to employment, higher education, or further study.

Paul Patton, Director of Further Education and Training at Limerick and Clare ETB, praised the graduates’ readiness for the future and the strong connection between FET learning and industry needs: “This week is a celebration of real learning, real progress, and real opportunity. Employers are looking for people who can think on their feet, solve problems, adapt, lead and get the job done and that’s exactly what our learners are walking away with. The experience they’ve gained here, through hands-on learning and strong links with industry, means they’re ready to step into the next stage of their journey with confidence. We’re proud to stand behind them as they take the next step in their careers and excited to see where their skills will take them.”

The graduation marked a special milestone for hundreds of learners whose dedication and success embody the spirit of Further Education and Training — empowering people and strengthening the communities they live in. Together, they join a vibrant and expanding community of FET alumni who have gone on to make their mark across countless professions and industries. We congratulate each of them on their achievements and wish them every success in the exciting journeys ahead.
