Help Olivia Giltenane take on Kilimanjaro for Pieta House

LCETB and Colaiste na Trocaire staff member Olivia Giltenane is taking on the Kilimanjaro Challenge to raise funds for the suicide prevention charity Pieta House

Next Summer Waterford man Enda O’Doherty intends to raise funds for Pieta House and spread a positive mental health message by carrying a washing machine to the top of Kilimanjaro. A washing machine symbolizes the heavy load that many carry that is not seen by others and to spread the message that “It’s ok to ask for help, Just share the load”. Enda requires a team of 30 people to travel with him to Kilimanjaro in order to reach his goal of raising €120 000 for Pieta House and Olivia is part of that team.

It’s estimated that 10 people die from suicide every week in Ireland and Olivia says that in her role as a Chaplain/Teacher and work with young people she is acutely aware of the difficulties facing young people today and has first hand experience of their struggles. Pieta House provide a free one to one therapeutic service for people experiencing suicidal ideation, people who have attempted suicide and people engaging in self harm.
