The full-time City & Guilds certified course in Blacksmithing & Ironcraft, delivered by local artist blacksmith Eric O’Neill is just one of the many unique courses on offer. This course offers an excellent introduction for anyone hoping to develop a career in the ancient craft of Blacksmithing and features all the fundamental skills of the art. These include learning how to forge to industry standards, timelines and specifications and training in the use of forge hearths, forge metal and specialist blacksmith tools. Some learners at Cappamore might even use this foundation to progress further with their training with the inspiration of someday being able to help restore and conserve heritage ironwork in Limerick.

For learners in the area, the college is centrally located and offers free parking and the expert team at the Cappamore campus can help learners to choose the right option for their lifestyle, taking into consideration any work and family commitments. Supports on-site include educational guidance and a self-access Learning Hub, designed to help with each unique Further Education and Training journey. Learners can also avail of access to device loans, one-to-one support and assistive technology.
