BT Young Scientist 2020
The BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition took place at the RDS in Dublin, from the 8th to 11th of January.
A total of 14 projects from Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board post-primary schools qualified, with seven of our schools represented.
Director of Schools, Donncha Ó Treasaigh congratulated all of the students, teachers and schools who were successful in reaching this prestigious exhibition, “Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board schools have an outstanding reputation in being extremely well represented at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition each year in every category and discipline. It is particularly noteworthy that our schools feature very prominently in the awards and the Teacher Awards also.”
Donncha expressed his sincere gratitude and praise of the organisers and judges of the BT Young Scientist Exhibition who he stated “showcase the brightest and most innovative in our region, and inspire our young people and schools to meet the challenges in our world today, in making a meaningful difference to the quality of lives of countless people with their creativity and ingenuity”. He also thanked the Limerick and Clare based companies who support the exhibition with very generous special prizes across a wide range of specialisms including Analog Devices, Cook Medical, Johnson and Johnson, Limerick for Engineering, Regeneron and the University of Limerick.
