Screen Success for LCFE Evening Provision with Prop Training Course

The first ever prop training course undertaken in the Republic of Ireland was recently successfully delivered in Limerick in association with our largest Further Education and Training Centre, Limerick College of Further Education, along with Screen Skills Ireland and Troy Studios, with thanks also to Screen Guilds of Ireland.

The course titled ‘Introduction to Props for Film and Television Production’ was delivered by instructor, Prop Master, Noel Walsh. 12 participants from the Limerick region took part in the course over 5 weeks, gaining a broad understanding of the practical and theory of how a props department operates. They undertook field trips to Troy Studios Limerick and Ardmore Studios. In week 4 participants also undertook a practical evening dressing a set at Troy Studios.

This course initiative is a significant step in the development of future prop crew in the Limerick region for the film sector. Due to the high level of interest, a follow-up course may take place later this year. For more information, contact adulted@lcfe.ie or film@troystudios.ie.
