Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board today welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh TD, of his commitment to the opening of a new Community National School in Glenroe under the patronage of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. The ETB is patron of two other Community National Schools in the region: Mol an Óige, Ennistymon, and Raheen Wood, Tuamgraney.
Community National Schools are co-educational, multidenominational schools underpinned by the core values of excellence in education, care, respect, equality and community. Today’s announcement by the Minister follows an extensive period of engagement between the local working group from Glenroe/Ballyorgan Community Council, the Diocese of Limerick, Department officials and the ETB.
Welcoming the statement, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board said: “I very much welcome today’s announcement by the Minister and look forward to engaging in the coming months with the Department and the working group on the establishment of the new Community National School in Glenroe. I would also like to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of the local community in Glenroe and Ballyorgan in reaching this significant milestone.”
