Students from the Leaving Cert Applied Class in Colaiste na Trocaire in association with Limerick Youth Service and West Limerick Resources have produced Sticks and Stones, a short film that premiered in the Arts Centre in Rathkeale recently. Sticks and Stones deals with the subjects of bullying, suicide and the social pressures that some young people face in contemporary Ireland.
The film project was developed as part of a programme at Rathkeale Youth Space aimed at developing the literacy and numeracy skills of young people as well as introducing them to the film industry. Representatives of the West Limerick Mental Health Association and the Community Crisis Response Team were present at the premiere to speak about the supports available to young people.
Sticks and Stones has been entered in this years Fresh Film Festival. You can view the film below.
