The Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O Sullivan TD, pictured here making a presentation to Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh teachers Cathall King and Pat Gleeson in recognition of their success to date with Na Piarsaigh and their accomplishment in reaching the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Club Final in Croke Park. Cathall, who captains Na Piarsaigh teaches Music & Gaeilge, and Pat teaches PE and Gaeilge.
Na Piarsaigh will be playing in Croke park on St. Patrick’s Day and will have a considerable followig from pupils, parents and staff of Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh. Principal Donncha Ó Treasaigh explained that ‘both teachers are very popular and highly regarded teachers at the Limerick City all-Irish medium college. Mr. Gleeson is the driving force behind the development of the school’s hurling squads and his passion for hurling is inspirational to the boys and girls who attend Ireland’s biggest all-Irish secondary school. Mr. King is an highly accomplished musician and music teacher.’
