Congratulations to Jessica Okonkwo, 5th year Colaiste Chiarain, on her success at the semi final of the National Poetry Aloud competition held at the National Library of Ireland, Dublin.
Jessica has been selected for the final which will take place December 7th. It is an exceptional achievement considering 1771 students have taken part in this year’s competition. Jessica is one of only 30 students who will progress to the final.
Congratulations also to Dmitri Salyshka, 4th year, who also recited beautifully at semi final. We look forward to Dmitri taking part again next year. Well done to their mentor Ms Miriam Cassidy who has guided Dmitri and Jessica from the very beginning!!
