Coláiste Chiaráin Welcomes Class of 2027 to Multi-Million Euro New Campus

Coláiste Chiaráin today welcomed First Year students to its multi-million euro new school campus in Croom, County Limerick. The school building and 22-acre campus opened its doors on March 1st this year following the resumption of in-school teaching. The Principal, leadership team, and staff were delighted to welcome all the new students to the state-of-the-art new school.

The construction of the new Coláiste Chiaráin at a 22-acre greenfield site was a massive 3-year undertaking for the school’s patron Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. The development comprises of an almost 10,000m² 2-storey building, with 50 classrooms, a dedicated Special Education Needs facility, PE and GP halls, a fitness suite, and dressing rooms, as well as 6 external ball courts, 3 playing pitches, and extensive parking and set-down areas. This will facilitate delivery of the widest-possible curriculum to the school community, as well as enabling a diverse range of extra-curricular activities on the new school campus. The class of 2027 will get the opportunity to fully enjoy all of these fantastic facilities over the course of their education in the years ahead.

Welcoming the first-year students today, Principal Gerard O’Sullivan said: “The beginning of this academic year is special and historic for the entire Coláiste Chiaráin community. I’m delighted to welcome this year’s first years and wish them every success, fulfilment and fun on their learning journey over the years ahead.”
